Best non restricted black rifle for 3 gun

Don't use a 1/4" Allen key to tighten the barrel on the XCR. Use a torque wrench, torque it to spec and you will not have issues. Get a newer XCR with all the updates. As for accuracy, if you feed it turds it'll shoot like crap. If you feed it good ammo it does pretty good for itself. Handloads will get it shooting quite well. If you're expecting match accuracy then why are you looking at a semi? Too much money laying around taking up space? If you're looking for a reliable semi that shoots well for a semi, has ergos as close as you're going to get to an AR, is fairly modular and has excellent support (Wolverine) then its a good option to look at. Or if you get your RPAL you can save a couple grand and just get the ideal 3 gun rifle... what's it called?

I think the xcr has better ergos then an ar. Just my opinion though!

Have never heard of an XCR not running other then normal wear and tear breaking a part. Actually seen videos of it going through torture tests lots of other guns would fail at.

I don't disagree with you. So I am not sure why you quoted me. But the swiss dont offer the 542 sadly.
the swiss arms is currently under review because the debate of it either being designed after a 55* series which should be prohib rather than the 54* series which is NR.

If you want to get technical the Chilean 542 is not a SIG 542 either.

My post was directed to the op who was talking about the 540, not the 542 as your post corrected (my bad on the double quote)

Swiss arms SAPR is with the RCMP is it not? there should be no hold back now that another 542 clone has been labled NR.

why wait, swiss arms is still going to be better than that version and readily available.......

That's a peculiar statement...

How and why would the Swiss Arms be better? Swiss Arms is no longer the vast, sophisticated manufacturing conglomerate that it was before the year 2000, when the SIG 55x was developed.

These days it's a small shop that does everything on CNC, mostly imported from their German parent-company. I doubt they have the background to make a new, military-grade rifle, and the delays and trouble with the SAPR are evidence of this.

I don't have the FAMAE yet, but I suspect it won't yield to the Swiss guns in any important way.

then buy an older used rifle as they have been imported here for many years......You must believe the current production Chilean licensed sigs are manufactured differently than current swiss arms licensed sigs and to a higher standard to post the above which I find highly unlikely.

It is all speculation untill people compare them side by side and round for round.

Comparing the SAN's to the FAMAE's.......please.......The Famae's are nice rifles and I really want one, but the quality control and finish done by FAMAE is not on the same level as the SAN rifles.

Rumors of the XCR barrel bolt coming loose are greatly over exaggerated in this thread.

Follow the intrusions in the manual from new and you will have no problems.

I'm actually really happy you said that. Cause it's definitely the rifle I want. I want to like a tavor but I was reading up on the fs2000's that kaboomed. Some guys were pretty hurt. I don't like the idea of resting my cheek right next to the chamber. But still an awesome rifle from what I've read.
