Best NR 9mm carbine!

I was looking at either the JR carbine or the TNW Aero in 357 sig. At over 2000 FPS out of a 18.5" barrel it seems like caliber of choice, It is a 9mm bullet just out of a necked down 10mm case and apparently they feed more reliably because of the taper as well. Aero offers a lot of caliber change options too they recently released the .22 and have a .22 Mag and .17 on the way too. Seems to me it would be a great plinking rifle with lots of options.

I got another vote for JR Carbine here. Except the no open action on empty mag. If there is some way to do this or it offers loaded round indicator it would be perfect.

If you don't like the factory trigger just buy a pack of JP Enterprises light trigger spring. It made the trigger like one of those fancy $300 AR Trigger.

I have two JR carbines. Both MKII models. High quality firearm, backed by a very good company. Mine does 3-4" groups at 100m if I do my part. Eats all kinds of ammo and uses AR15 furniture and triggers so upgrading is easy. The stock trigger is pretty bad but that can be fixed. For the price, it's a good choice for a 9mm carbine.

Have a jr carbine in 9mm, shoots really nice, accurate, looks great but heavy and really annoying to field strip for cleaning. Shot the cx4 and its really nice but looks like a space gun. Here is my jr carbine.

I'd wait a bit if you don't desperately need it now and see what becomes of NEA's 9mm Carbine. Personally I think its one of the better looking 9mm carbines (physically) and if it gets non-restricted status it'll be sweet. Uses 10 round UZI mags. If NEA can make high quality AR-15s for around $1200 and an AR-10 like non-restricted 308 rifle for $1700, then I would figure this couldn't be too expensive when it comes out. Maybe sub $1000.

What's the difference in gen 1 and gen 2? Is the one cabelas selling a gen 2?

Gen 1 had a Mossberg produced triangular fluted barrel and some tuning issues if I recall. Gen 2 had around barrel and the gen 3 have the round barrel threaded for a break.
