best nr black rifle?

This one has been awesome. Once I got used to the ergonomics, I fell in love with it. Accurate, reliable (I haven't cleaned it in a few years, just to see what it's capable of, and it's still running without a hiccup), and reasonably lightweight. I don't think there's a 'best' gun, but Tavor's are pretty sweet.

How many rounds in those few years? How many is a few?
I can't help myself, I clean mine every time I get home (or at least the next day).
I'm definitely looking forward to trying one of those. I love bullpups. Worst thing is that I'll probably NEED to buy one after I run a few mags through one.

Cobra GT did you paint your S and R yourself? Or did your tavor come that way? Mine were blank even before I painted my body, but mines an older generation rifle.

Good luck getting spare parts or mags for the swiss.

Xcr parts are common and cheap.

Plus I like to be able to switch between 762 to 223 is awesome.

TSE carries or is able to get any part you need for the Swiss Arms. Mags are readily available, albeit expensive, I have 14 for my 2 Swiss Arms (1 rifle, 1 carbine).

XCR parts are about as common as Swiss Arms parts, i.e. they are readily available through the Canadian importer/retailer.

It is neat to be able to switch calibers, but the cost of a conversion kit is almost that of a CZ-858.

I forgot to add that while everyone keeps saying the Swiss mags are expensive I don't really feel that way. I paid $45 new for the Dominion Arms polycarbonate ones which are supposed to be the mid level quality of the 3 different Dominion mags. I bought the black ones for under $40 each used but new in the bags (including shipping) and I just ordered 3 of the lighter almost clear ones which are supposed to be the good ones for $115 for 3 of them off the EE including shipping. This may be slightly more expensive than AR mags but it's still reasonable especially considering the quality of them. Compare those prices to the prices of pmags on the EE and it seems pretty even to me.
Don't buy used pmags, I just paid $21.99 for a couple brand new from a shop in Edmonton less than a month ago and then just a few days ago I paid $25 each for some windowed ones from another retailer.
Yes the authentic Swiss mags are $100+ each but why bother with those.

If you could jump the XCR between .223 and .308 that would be a real reason to adopt the platform.

But that's a big feat, and it seems Robinson Arms was pretty pleased to just get the XCR-M out there.

Maybe someday there'll be a reverse kit and magwell adapter to bring the XCR-M back down to .223 or 7.62x39

If that ever happens, I'll be on-board with cash

Between 2000 and 3000 rounds in the last 3 years

Nice paint job - great looking rifle! I painted the selector markings on mine.

Nice tavor, but the Maglite next to the elcan has me lol'ing.

And the maglight - it's been on there for years, so it's robust enough. It's bright, cheap, takes cheap batteries, and as this is my camping gun, sufficient for me :) Now if I was in Afghanistan, I might re-think my choice of lights!! ;)

Awesome gun, looks in terrific shape. Great pic.

If you are looking at turning a rifle down because of price point you can't be looking for the "best" like your opening post said.

That's true, later in the thread I acknowledged that the Swiss seems to be the answer to the question in my open....price wasn't listed as a requirement

I just bought the most ludicrously expensive rifle and am evicting all the other rifles from the safe now that they are obsolete......all except the Swiss, its just that good. Had it for a few years now and do not want any other 556 rifle.
