Best Optics for a Colt Canada MRR 11.5"

I say Vortex Sparc AR/Crossfire Red Dot to save some money, add vortex 3x magnifier and you are still less in total price then many of the other options listed.

I just put an eotech vudu 1-6 on my AR and had it out on the weekend. Was very impressed with it.

Not sure what you would consider "bank breaking" level, but it was less than half of the prices quoted above for other optics (edit: refering to the $3k optics).

I have an Aimpoint T1 on my 10.5" AR. Shot out to 200 no issues. Red dots work well. Pick the price point you want to spend. It's a range gun.

I picked up the Vortex Crossfire 2 MOA red dot just because of the price point.

Thoroughly impressed by a $199 red dot (thanks Wanstalls).

I look for a lightweight scope on short ARs—to me something like and Elcan throws off the rifles' "handiness" too much. One of the Aimpoint Micros would be ideal, or if you on a budget, maybe a Holosun in the same form factor—I've owned two for a couple of years and they've been trouble free. I like the Trijicon MRO, too. As a few others have mentioned upthread the ACOG TA33 is a great lightweight 3X scope, although they're not cheap. I've shot an Aimpoint out to 300m without any issues so a 1X red dot will likely suit your needs.

Something like an Accupoint 1-4, or 1-6 is good. Lightweight, bright illumination, and magnification when you want it.

I’ve got a T1 on my MK18 and it definitely is a good match for it, I think it would be as much a good fit on a 11.5 MRR. Spent a couple days on the range with 14.5 MRR (hope they do make that one available eventually) and they had EXPS on them, a first for me but I give them a big thumbs up. So yeah, if you’re asking me;

Aimpoint Micro if longer battery life and bomb proof means anything to you
Eotech EXPS if a bigger field of view and a circle/dot (ie ballistic reticle) is more important

I went with an accupoint on AR. Simple reticle, easy to use throughout the whole magnification range. To my eyes the glass is better than the Vortex (excluding razor) and Bushnell AR optics.

Sig Romeo 5 with Sig 1-4x Juliet magnifier, 17.6 ounces
or a little cheaper
Vortex Sparc AR with Vortex 1-3x magnifier, 19.4 ounces

Truth be told at 200 yards you can just use irons. I would just avoid bargain bin scopes that have durability and zeroing problems. Vortex PST/strike eagle 1-6 is a great choice, all the trijicon scopes from their accupoint, ta33, ta11,ta31 etc etc. Red dots like aimpoint and eotechs are fine. Honesty the world is your oyster, I currently use a os4x on my sa20 and its fantastic.

The current 1-6 has a very attractive price, assuming it's as high quality an optic as it seems to be. And it has (what I'm told is} a Call Of Duty style rapid aiming reticle!

Coool!
