best optics for ar15 for CQC and up to 200 yards???

that I can mount on a norc m4

That doesnt cost an arm and a leg please.

If you're shooting out to 200 yards why not run a 1-4 optic?

I run a Viper PST IR 1-4 It's perfect for close range at x1 and will work great at 100-200 at x4. It seems to be a good all around optic that gives you a ton of versatility...

They are priced pretty decent too at about $500

Good luck,

How small a target do you want to hit consistently?

For me this is what I shoot at for targets at various distances with a .223

4" clays @ 100m - irons (peep or diopter).
8" round steel gong @ 200m - irons (peep or diopter).
8" round steel gong @ 300m - 4X optic.
12" center ring of Fig 12 target @ 400m -4X optic.

If you're looking to shoot smaller stuff out to 200 then a 4X would fit the bill nicely. 4X is good for busting clays at 200m no problem.

There are a variety of low powered variables that would work just fine. Unfortunately most have no ubertackykewl charm.

Burris ar-332 prism sight!!! Its a 3x I got if on my rfb and love it

I'll second Rally Guy as I just put one of the Burris AR-332 on an AR and am impressed with it too. They run about $300 here in the US, don't know what you guys would pay for one.
I also have an EOTech on another AR. Nice sight but it's of course 1X and with my older eyes 200 meters is a long ways out there without magnification. Mine was also about $300 but I had a 20% off coupon at a sporting goods discounter here.

The bold is the question that needs an answer before any suggestion for optic choice can be rationalized. Target size/acceptable group directly influence the minimum amount of precision required in a sighting system.

All owners of AR's eventually boil down to owning 3 optics for this platform.
  1. Red Dot/Holo Sight
  2. A fixed 4x or a 1-4x scope
  3. 4-12x scope
Now if you were on a budget I would recommend a Buirrs Fast Fire. Then I would buy a Vortex or a Redfield low magnification scope and place the fast fire on it. Then get a really low mounting rings. So that when you are taking long range shoot's you are using the scope & when you have short range targets that have to be quickly identified nothing beats the speed of a red dot reflex sight.
As for me mentioning the 4-12x scope that is some times AR owner's like my self like to push this little round accuratly out at it's limits around the 600 meter mark.

mmm... I dont know. I guess ill start w irons.

Can you remove the carry handle of the norc?

Is it an issue to mount optics on it?

You can easily remove the carry handle. Just loosen the screws and remove. If you're looking for a less expensive red dot then i would recommend a Lucid red dot. As a back up iron sight i'm currently using a magbpul BUIS.

Good luck!
