Best optics for target/precision shooting in the $1500-$2500 range?

Nobody’s mentioned the zeiss v6 scopes. Turrets designed by nightforce. Just got my v6 3-18 and I’ve owned nxs nightforce before. These turrets feel amazing and are solid steel underneath the aluminum caps and a good zero stop setup too. Glass better than nightforce nxs for sure

unfortunately the V6 is 2nd FP and moa only

Since the Op has been shooting for a long time I assume he's not a young guy and most likely quite accustomed to MOA scopes.

I had a heck of a time making the transition from MOA to MILS and eventually gave up and sold my MIL based IOR and I'm back to FFP in MOA.

From my experience you do not want to mix MILS and Minutes, just pick one and run with it for all your rifles.... especially if you hop between F-Class and PRS.

If you have any reservations about adjusting from MOA to MILS then don't.

Just because MILS are more popular in PRS is not a good enough reason for anyone to recalibrate 20 or 30 years of MOA shooting experience.

If you are not accustomed to either MILS or MOA, then for PRS just go with MILS and you'll fit right in.

I just changed from MOA to Mils after shooting for years and it was pretty simple. Changed all my dope charts over and I'm good to go. All you're doing is measuring on the reticle anyways. Stop thinking that you missed by 6" and say you missed by 1.5 mils instead.

Nightforce nxs 3.5-15x50 npr2 .25 moa adjustments just so happenes I have one of those for sale with rings in your price range lol for real though that price range nightforce nxs is the way to go the newer models with high speed turrets I would look on the ee also I would go with the 22x nightforce. When I started out shooting I got the Leupold mark 4 3.5-10 with the m1 turrets and I was hitting targets out to 1 k but you will most likely want more magnification so I would sudjest nightforce nxs 22x mil or Moa buy once cry once

Wonder if the nxs atacr 4-16x50 is worth the extra price over the standard nxs? I’ve had an nxs before but sold it before I could even take it out to try on a rifle

I put a Swaro Z5 3-18 x44 on my gun. So far I like it a lot, but don’t have much to compare it to. Paid 1500 plus taxes.

Just got an Athlon Ares ETR and man am I impressed. The glass is really very good and is right there with the Cronus BTR which has Japanese ED glass. The scope has all the desired features but you should look at the reticle and see if the central dot will work for your tastes. I think it will be great for very fine aiming on my long range rifles.

Will mount it shortly and run it through its paces but I do not expect any surprises. The amount of travel both internal and with reticle puts it at 190MOA or 51 mils.

Very clicky turrets so that will make many happy. Cost way less then you would expect. The backlog in the US is huge and now I can see why.
