Best Optics for Tavor?

Sounds like a DR, or Acog would be your best bet. Depending on what model Eotech you're running, you might not have enough rail room, for the mag device.
AFAIK, supporting dealers are working on that "problem" as we speak.

I have been running an eotech with a 3x magnifier on mine for a while with the older style buis on a dlask rail. There is plenty of room on the rail for both

I bought an Elcan Specter DR for my tavor. I think it is the best sight since sliced bread for any black rifle, but is seems especially great on the tavor. The field of view is amazing at 1X and still excellent at 4X. Plus, batteries or not, you always have a reticle with the Elcan and extra BUIS

I temporarily mounted a Nightforce 5.5-22X56 to do some load development; I used the same rings that I use with the Remington 700 - they were so short I pretty much had to lay my head down sideways on top of the rifle to get a proper sight picture. I would suggest that anyone wanting to mount a scope use tall rings!

The new factory rail sits about 1/4" lower than an AR15 measured from the stock.
Between the stock & the top of an AR15 rail is ~ 1/2", normal scope mounts are around 1.5".
The Tavor rail sits about 1/8"-1/4" above the stock, so using the 1.5" AR15 type mounts sets you up about 1/4" lower than the AR15.

That's why I will be using the ADM AR15 scout mount.

It certainly is a matter of personal preference... I've tried a couple sights on my first Tavor, and finally decided on an EoTech 555... On my new Tavor, I've gone with a Dlask rail, and an EoTech 552. Hugs the gun quite low, and co-witnesses well with the BUPS (Back Up Plastic Sights...:))... Here's a really crappy cell phone shot...

Good luck with your selection...

Furet,

Will the Buis cowitness when the mepro is moved all the way forward? I didn't even know there was a rear buis on the rail of my rifle lol till I read further into this thread lol.

The BUIS is way low in the Mepro window but it does work, you can see the front post no problem. And yes the Mepro has to be way up front, even stick out just a bit in order to gain cleareance between the MEPRO and BUIS.
