I am looking for a pink .22 for my girlfriend. He has taken her PAL test but says one of the reasons she doesn't like shooting is she has to use my guns. She wants one of her own. I am looking for a pink .22 for her, preferably a bolt action but semi's seem more common and will work.

So far I have seen Chiappa M1 carbine lookalikes in a neat pink dazzle/camo pattern she likes but I heard they were crappy, all plastic guns. The Mossberg 702 is top of the list so far as it is avalible at Canadian Tire and the reviews aren't too bad. Remington 597 got some not so hot reviews and the last two Remington's I bought were not the best finished guns. 10/22 with a laminate stock would be great but there are none avalible right now. One of Savages accu trigger bolt actions would be awesome but they don't come in pink.

What would be your reccomendation? Is there something in the US I can import? It must be simple to use, reliable, and have at the very least spare magazines available.

^^^ Get yourself a good Ruger 10/22 semi, swap out the black synth stock for an aftermarket in pink or pink camo ( try Boyd's or something like that). It's a bit more money but she wil swoon that you splurged on her and she (and you) will love the rifle. It's a good investment as they don't loose their value. But keep the org stock, because when you and her go splitzville... You will still have a great .22 and you won't have to go to the range with a pink gun and no girlfriend!:)

I am going to do that for all the reasons listed. :)

Actually I might get a nice laminate stocked one and then put that on my 10/22. She said she liked the muddy girl camo and Hogue makes an rubber over mould stock in that color. Are those any good? I don't mind Hogue grips bu I have never handled their stocks. It's just a .22 so I figured it can't be that bad.

Where do I find these pink CZ scouts?

And if I go the 10/22 route do models with barrel bands fit in stocks that don't have barrel bands? The base model has a band around the front of the stock and the barrel but the aftermarket Hogue stock doesn't have a band.

I'm pretty sure ruger makes a 10/22 with a pink laminate stock . I'm not a gal that cares for pink guns and even I like that one . It's very nice looking .

I bought my wife a pink Camo Savage with the accu-trigger. It is some sort of special breast cancer promotion. It's a nice gun, look around there should be some available still.

Dang that's nice !
Those old Cooeys are excellent guns for a pink transformation .

Right now (what I have seen for sale in Canada a least) the Ruger 10/22 CRR comes in pink and black laminates, as well as 'hardwood'.

The CRR has only a 3/4" shorter LOP than a carbine so larger frames should still be able to shoulder it well enough (unlike many other 'youth' models), as well as OE fibre optic front sight, no barrel band, and she will not be limited to a single shot like most other starter .22s!

One listed on P&D (Edmonton) as of Monday for $320, even.

Oh, and if she took the RPAL, there is something to be said for a pink finish GSG 1911.

Seen at sponsor vendors Prairie Gun Traders and Wolverine; the GSG is a great little shooter with some parts interchangeability between its full size brother, and magazine availability seems good.
