Best pistol for small hands?

why are you guys suggesting 45 calibers for small handed folks? The largest caliber in the smallest hands? It needs to be a 9, less recoil, less push, much faster follow up shots much easier to handle for smaller, typically less strong hands. I would NEVER put a 45 in my wifes hands. The CZ Duty is a nice sized pistol compact and very very accurate, Ruger sr9 is also small like the 45 cals mentioned and serioulsy accurate. Hk P2000, one for sale in EE right now is a good small pistol too, shoot nothing larget than 124 gr lead and these are all great shooting and handling pistols.

Was in the gunshop today watching a lady try several different pistols, she had very small hands, SR9 by ruger beat everything hands down, not only was the grip right all the controls were easily accessible. It easily won the competition and was the pistol purchased, CZ Duty, HK P2000, sig 229 and others were tested , Ruger won hands down. As a side not the Ruger is a very accurate pistol also.

By George, I think you are right! Perhaps most if not all men would possess the necessary hand/arm/upper body strength to shoot .45 hardball, but some women may have a little trouble. Not trying to be ###ist here. Just a physiological truth. My wife is all of 4'11" 110 lbs (at the time), but handled low-mid range .45 loads easily. She would have had some concern with .45 hardball, I think. My daughter, a little taller/heavier than my wife, loves shooting .38spl +P+ out of a 6" 686.

The recoil from a .45 ACP isn't that much heavier than a 9mm. In fact, light target loads can have comparable recoil to 9mm. Gun fit is more important than calibre from the standpoint of recoil control.

You should try a Berreta 92 VERTEC in 9mm. It has a smaller grip than the rest of the 92 series but uses the same mags etc. They are a little hard to find these days.

If not, single stack 1911 all the way.

Tried a few

I tried the M&P and it was good for grip size but the reach to the trigger was too long. Same for another smaller gripped pistol. Then I tried the Kimber 1911 and I was surprised at the difference. I guess small hands should also be mentioned with short fingers in order to get the full picture. The Kimber was much better for trigger reach because it was single action only whereas the others were DA first shot and that mad the trigger just a little bit too much of a reach.

I would try the new Pill advertised on TV for ##### enlargement; apparently it works on your hands as well, however you have to take a larger dose to make it work on your hands. I have a friend who tried it and he went from a small glove to an extra large in 6 months.
