Best place in Canada for 10/22 aftermarket?

Looking for one of those "lever style mag releases and maybe a larger "bolt handle"think that is what it might be called for a ruger 10/22. Somewhere close to Sask so shipping would be quicker. Thanks,Darcy

I bought my tech sights from hical.ca and they seem to have quite a bit of stuff
 
I have a question for the 10/22 aftermarket guys: Do these so called "bolt buffers" really make a difference? I`m thinking with no recoil on a 22, would they make any difference??
 
You'll get a ton of guys jumping in here to say how great bolt buffers are. After tens of thousands of rounds my old 10/22 shows no signs of wear in the bolt stop pin or its bores in the reciever. Same tolerances as a brand new one so the point about them preventing wear is speculation not fact. On top of that they're more annoying to install whereas the factory pin slips right in. I don't waste my time on them anymore. Ruger has used the same design since 1964 and they still come from the factory with a steel bolt stop pin. Hm... as for the charging handle and lever action mag release, Fabsports has both from Kidd. You'll want to get rid of that haneous wrought iron guide rod that Ruger supplies from the factory. Its a known cause of more FTE's than people think. A polished guide rod makes a world of difference.

Don`t want to sound stupid, but....are you talking the rod that attaches to the charge handle???
 
No, if you work your bolt back and forth and look inside your receiver you will see a guide rod that the bolt slides back and forth on. You have to disassemble your entire receiver, take out trigger group and bolt to get at it. You can use extremely fine sand paper on it, like 1000 grit. But I wouldn't recommend trying it unless you are familiar with how to take it all apart. There is probably a YouTube video if you are curious about it.

Yes, he was talking about the rod that attaches to the charging handle... It's very rough from factory and the handle is crimped on so removing it to polish the rod is more trouble than it's worth, replacing it with one that can be taken apart and polished noticeably smooths out the action, i recommend The Dlask assembly, and the handle is larger than stock without being too heavy and bulky (which can also cause issues)
 
We stock the Power Custom complete oversized charging handles assemblies, they are noncaptured so you polish them even more if you like. The buffers quiet the gun by stopping metal to metal contact, its quite noticable as i shoot with amplified headphones & the stock steel bolt stop makes a ring every time it would cycle, the buffer eliminates it. it it neccessary? No, does it smooth the gun & quiet it? Yes.

I purchased a VQ guide rod/charging handle at the easter gunshow in 2012. it was a piece of garbage. my gun always cycled best with the stock handle/guide rod so I would suggest staying away from the VQ handle. can't say anything about the Dlask model cause I have never encountered one. I hope its better than the VQ version.
