Hello everyone. I am in the market for my first large caliber handgun, and after months of research (I owe many of you for excellent advice), I have settled on getting a Norinco 1911 .45 Sport/Police model. I prefer the .45 caliber's feel, price be damned, and insist on getting a 1911 platform, so no Glock recommendations please. I considered the SAM Military Enhanced .45 on Wolverine, but i actually like the looks, price, and reviews of the Norinco better. My question to you is: who, in your experience, deserves the business?
I originally was going to buy from Marstar, but have heard bad things. Armco was my text ticket. I liked the idea of the trigger job and polish, but again, after reading your reviews, I am not sure if I want to pay $100 more on the gamble that I will be one of the ones with a good experience. Makes more sense to me to learn myself how to make it a better shooter. Many other websites offer them, such as SFRC and CanadaAmmo.com. I am hesitant to buy a used gun off CGN, simply because it is not a whole lot cheaper to just buy a new one, one that I would be much more confident in not arriving broken.
Are there any favorites you have that can recommend? It would be an added plus if the website had decent magazines and .45 ammunition at a good price, as there seems to be a shortage of the stuff at the moment. Any advice would be much appreciated.
