I'm calgary and I was wondering where would be a best place to buy M&P9?
Offline store, online store don't matter.

Also, should I apply for ATT by myself or the seller would help if I buy it from online?

Thank you for helping this newbie!

Nice range kit at Prairie for $680.......with all the trimmings.

Not sure if it is cheaper anywhere else, I haven't seen it for less than that though.

I would reccomend P&D in Edmonton.
First though....do your research as to what the legal requirements are to own a restricted firearm.

Welcome to CGN, Ryan.

As others have said, you might find a good deal in the EE. I've looked in the EE a fair bit, and I've never seen what I would call a good deal. Not saying they don't exist, but I haven't seen one. Could be that in AB we only pay 5% tax, so sellers elsewhere looking to recover more of their investment aren't competitive with new prices. Maybe, I dunno.

Check the gun shops in town: Wholesale, Proline, Shooting Edge, and Shooting Center. There's a lot to be said for having local warranty support.

If you decide to go online, SFRC has the basic (two mags) for $620 (though the range kit might be worth your while)

Or Canada Ammo has the 40 with the kit for $675 shipping included (sold out of the 9)

I've dealt with both of these retailers, and they are excellent.

There are good threads here with directions for ATTs. I suggest you call the Canadian Firearms Program and explain your situation as a first timer. The Alberta CFO office has been very helpful to me, but you'll need to get their extension number from the CFP. Short version: Seller looks after the ATT on their end for getting it to the post office. If you can arrange to be at home when the package arrives, you don't need an ATT to receive it (or if the delivery guy leaves it on your doorstep... It happens:rolleyes:). If you need to pick it up from a depot, you and only you can apply for the necessary ATT. It's a pain the first time, and then pretty easy once you know what you need to do.

I am looking at the same gun myself. For online - Al Flaherty has them in stock for $650 + $30 Shipping and handling. I am going to a distant store on Friday and if they can do a good deal I will get it through them, otherwise I am ordering from Al Flaherty next week.

As a benchmark, if you're quick, I saw one on the EE advertised at $500. The range kit is a pretty good value add, and you know exactly what you're getting in a new gun.

Yup, P&D is where I bought mine. Dont even bother with just the gun. GET THE RANGE AND CARRY KIT!!! a third mag will cost you anywhere from 40$ to 60$ in Canada, and they dont heve them everywhere (factory 10, no 10/17, they'd be MORE and thats IF you could find them here). Plus the holster and mag holder are pretty good, unless your a lefty. I am and I drilled holes on the other side so I can use it. Aint pretty but its functional. Its made by bladetech, but be forwarned, there is no retention mechanism other than the friction of tightening the screws.

finally, the UPLULA mag loader is a godsend to your thumb.

Bottom line, I love my M&P and I am glad I got the range and carry kit. TOTALLY worth the extra 50-75$ depending on where you buy it. P&D did right by me, so I'd reccomend them.
