Best place to buy reloading kits and supplys

$257 + 7%tx +exchange rate to Cdn. dollars is around $350. Now depending on how much it cost to ship to Canada ( I expect quite a bit) there may not be much of a savings compared to $389 at Frontier.

SMACDONALD who is a dealer on this site, has a fantastic price on the supreme kit right now, and they are in stock. He is selling them in the EE.
His price is $450, Frontiers price is $389.99. Are these the same kits????

Hey guys, I have had the itch to start rolling my own for the last few years and the wife has ok'd the funds :dancingbanana:. I am looking at the rockchucker supreme master kit. Is there any thing else you wound consider a must have other than a case trimmer and a set of calipers??? Where is the best place with good prices to get me started. Thanks Slayer

If your really stuck on the Rockchucker Supreme master kit, that's fine, but if your a bit flexable, you may find yourself with money left over for components. One place to start is garage sales, as there are a lot of people that get into reloading not realizing what it entails, and soon become disenchanted. another thing to think about is a less pricey kit,and no, I'm not suggesting Lee. I like Lee for a few things, namely their case trimmers, they're simple, and they work, but their other stuff is built to beat all other companies stuff in price by a large margin. By diong so it has to be cheaper. get yourself a good press by RCBS, Hornady, Lyman, or Redding, and you'll have a press for life if needed. Get an RCBS or redding scale, an RCBS or hornady powder measure, and your well on your way. The Lee kit is good for the price, but again, for the price. One of my friends actually broke both of his Lee presses in a very short period of time, so I woulden't count on most of their stuff for the long haul.

Ya that's the same kit. WOW that is a good price (amazing how we get used to taking it in the @ss isn't it). I have been following these kits for about a year and haven't seen one below $425.

If they are actually in stock, that would be a good deal.

I actually had good luck with the Lee Perfect Powder Measurer. I weigh the charges from the Lee Powder Measurer, with my Ohaus scale, which is RCBS, and the little powder chucker is surprisingly accurate. We have two and both are the same, for accuracy.

How much was your total ??? The kit sells for $98 which is a nice price. But when you factor in the exchange rate, its closer to $125, plus tax and then how much did it cost you for shipping across the border???

Total merchandise was around $400 and change. Shipping to Canada is 15% of total price ($60 - not bad for a few dozen pounds of steel). Thing is, I'd be paying for shipping anyway since all I've got in town is LeBaron - and they ain't got jack for equipment. Oh, and most importantly - they actually had everything I needed in stock. Priced out my order at Cabelas would have cost me about $150 more Canadian, not counting the fact that their stock sucks.

Some examples:
Hand press kit - $32 vs. $56 -> factor in 45% (generous) for exchange+ship and it still comes to around $45

RGB Dies: $13 vs. $23 -> $19 after everything.

Lee Loader: $20 vs. $36 -> $29

Load All: $40 vs $64 -> $58

Above comparisons don't include Cabelas shipping, and are just a few things that jumped out at me.

YMMV.

I have the Hornady lock and load classic kit.. In my opinion better deal then the RCBS kit because the Hornady comes with a digital scale... I have sold both kits the Hornady seems to be better equipt for about the same price.

MY wife bought me the rockchucker supreme kit from Darcy bouyer in Maple Creek for $350 whole sale and SIR sell same kit for a little more in my opinion the rcbs is flawless

Have LNLAP and PLUS rcbs Rock Chucker The Rock Chucker is 30 plus years old. Still works well made machine. LNLAP about 5 years old. Love it. With auto case feed great loader. . Put the stereo on and I'm gone for hours.
Best part of the hobby, reloading . Right next to shooting your home mades during a hunt.

Thanks for all the input guys:cheers: I picked up my rockchucker kit from SMACDONALD on the weekend:rockOn: But I am feeling a little used after seeing frontiers price:eek::eek:
