Hi all, I picked up a Remington Sportsman 78 in .30-06 over the weekend with a very plain stock,
looking for something a little nicer and not necessarily a Boyds stock.

I believe they maybe also fit from a 700 adl with the blind mag "Long Action"

Whats my best options in Canada?

I personally am not 100% sure but read on the web that a 700 will fit. As the 788 is different gun from the 78 and 700.
The 78 is a budget 700 same action just cheaper finish

I'd just get some bottom metal and use a bdl style stock. Way more options out there on the used market, and personally I'm not a fan of blind mags.

The M78 Remington was a lower priced M700, with a plain bolt knob and uninspiring wood with a blind magazine.
All 700 stocks for the long action will fit your M78. However, the ones designed for magnums will have a slightly
larger barrel channel. If you want to retain the blind magazine, then a 700ADL stock is what you want. But as
Slimbo noted, a better way is to find a BDL or CDL stock and some bottom metal. This will give you a floorplate
that opens. Regards, D.
