Do you folks know of a place in Canada that is overrun with destructive wild hogs, like in Texas?
I would like to make a trip sometime, and do some serious piggy pest control.

There is getting more and more in Sask. problem is you can’t really hunt them like they do in Texas ie thermal or heli.

Don't know the regulations about civilians shooting from a helicopter, but why couldn't you hunt them at night. Like racoons & the possibility of dogs? Heck is the hunting of hogs even regulated in Saskatchewan? As their an invasive species.

You can’t have a loaded gun in a vehicle. You can’t hunt at night. Can’t hunt with thermal or night vision. Can’t hunt with dogs. Hopefully the government comes to their senses, but I’m not holding my breath.

Have a careful read of Saskatchewan's laws, the BC Wildlife Act says night hunting, lights, etc are allowed on private land if domestic animals are being menaced and the Govt Fact Sheet says feral swine can prey on sheep and goats. I'm not a lawyer so do your own due diligence or carry a couple lambs in the trunk of your car.

I suggest a direct question to the wildlife departments in certain provinces - Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec. The others are less geographically habitat connected to US neighbours with high pig population. BC - too mountainous and rugged; NB - unless the state of Maine is overrun, not likely. And as for PEI, NS and NFLD not until pigs can fly....

There are websites for wild hog sightings, just like there are for Sasquatch reports. But, volunteer reporting is always variable.
