Hi,

I recently purchased my first guns, G17gen4 / G22gen4.

Im aware of the 'Glock Bulge' that in rare cases can lead to Kaboom's and thus wont be using reloads.

That being said, any suggestions for the cheapest / best place to order quality ammo from?

Im looking for about 1000 rounds of each caliber but not sure what brand or retailer to go through. Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I was looking for Winchester .40 S&W 185gr FMJ FN and 9mm 124gr FMJ FN but that's not based on any experience or reviews.

PS: These are for the range, and will be punching thru paper.
 
Look up, Waaaay Up to the top of this page, there are several sponsors there or look waaay down and there are more sponsors there who are more than willing to help you spend your money.
Now for the not so smart answer... Click on the site sponsors and see what they have to offer and how close they are to where to live, because saving 20 or 50 dollars will be eaten up by shipping and the Dangerous Goods handling charge that will be levied by Canada Post or any of the other courier companies.

Glock Bulge occurs after you shoot the round. So, if you use well done professional reloads of FMJ's you will not have any problems dispite what internet commandoes say.

Wolf and BDX come to mind of quality reloads.

Where you are located would make your question easier to answer. (like said above, shipping $$ adds up)

BTW, did you ever consider getting an after market barrel instead of 2 similiar guns in diff calibers? ie: I have a Glock 20 with a .40 conversion, takes 10 seconds to change calibers.

Im from Northern Ontario and hadn't taken the distance for shipping into consideration, thanks for bringing that to my attention.

I also hadn't considered getting a conversion barrel for my Glocks, I bought 2 as my brother will be coming out shooting at the range with me. Changing out the barrels for different calibers is a great idea!

You really should try a box of as many brands as you can to find the ammo both of your pistols shoot best before you buy in bulk. The price of it means nothing. Won't necessarily be the same ammo in both either. Nothing says you have to buy 1,000 of the same ammo.
No ammo via Canada Post, as I recall. Shipping rates are set by the carrier, not the seller. Usuallu by weight, size of the package and distance.
 
stock G22 (3rd gen .40S&W), about 200 rounds of Wolf reloads, no KBs at all, no funny looking cases after being fired, one dud round that wouldn't go off after 2 strikes.

I am pretty sure if you closely inspect your brass after firing you will find a small radial swell just above the belt, ALL of my current Glocks and past ones have done this.

Not that I am saying this affects performance of my reloads in any way. I do however use full length resizing dies.

The Glock chamber is less supported than most models, particularly in the .40 S&W models. It results in a bulge forming just ahead of the extractor groove in the area unsupported by the barrel. Most sizing dies can't get down far enough to reach it. The solution is to roll size the cases, but the machinery is expensive and uncommon.

So what about 10MM? I have over 1000 once fired that i can see from the primers were fired from a glock, are these no good, or what? They wont be fired in a glock again, they were from someone else.

SIze them, then chamber check with the barrel from your gun.

10mm and .40 are easier to fix than 9mm, as there is a tool made for single stage presses that allow you to push a case backwards through a special die.
