Best places to get cheap SKS or mosin?

+3 on can am deal. That's a smoking deal. Put ammo on the EE if you can't afford the whole crate. Someone will want a few boxes of noncorrosive. LISTEN to what everyone is saying.
$100 mosin is a bit of a stretch. Maybe $150, although you often get what you pay for and if it seems to good to be true than it often is...
Laminated stocks are pretty. IMHO
Clean same day after shooting corrosive. If noncorrosive clean it when you see a decrease in accuracy.
You'll need to get a cleaning kit, again IMHO. $15 crappy tire kit will do to start.
Jams only happen if you have a mag problem, which is pretty rare, unless you pull on your follower or bend your feed lips. SKS tapco mags fix 99% of feed problems cheap.

I personally wouldn't buy one unless I could handle it first. My first SKS I knew nothing about, got it home and started to tear it down and several issues came to light. Now I can tear one down in seconds and generally know what to look for. I would suggest reading the stickie in this section and watching some youtube videos on issues that you can look for, such as the angle of the hammer and that kind of thing. They are super easy to work on, several hours of work and mine was pretty much good to go.

...was browsing a provincial hunting forum last night and saw an SKS for $150...they're out there, although you may have to browse the Dark Side... ;)

CT in Halifax are selling SKS for 179-199 - For new surplus,
299- for Tapco stock ones.

Most of the ones sold at CT are the Russian.

Mosins you can find at the Army Navy Store ( In Halifax ) for around 160$. About 179 at CT.

I picked up a Mosin 91/30 off the EE for 120 Shipped. I picked up many years ago a SKS at a local gun show for 70$

I have to agree with the Army Navy store . I just got a very nice 1940 Mosin with matching # bayonete and assorted tools and metal ishvek oil bottle for $160.00.
