Best powder and best hunting bullet for .300wsm

Hi there My friend got a .300 wsm We tried H4350 with 180 gr TSX in it and not getting good result at all.. And we get some problem with the 4 marks in the bullet ... It is getting right on the rim of the brass and the bullet doesnt seem to hold in it well.. We tried to reajust the Die with no more great resuslt the bullet is geeting loose as soon as it touch something.. So we wonder if another bullet could be good for moose hunting.. between 100 yards and 350 yards.

We are open to all suggestion.. He he likes the sirroco bullets that are used in the Remington core lokt bonded.. But they are prettyr expensive Is there any other one that could be as good in 180 gr. ...

If it could help a bit more.. he is shooting it in a Browning a-bolt Stainless with boss.

Are you loading the TSX to factory spec OAL? Have you checked how far out you can seat the bullet based on your magazine length capacity, and the distance to the lands in the rifle? (start at .050" off with the TSX). Another good bullet would be the 180 partition. The scirocco 180 are priced decent when buying for reloading. Check Bashaw Sports.
 
Well as for the powder, if you can get your hands on some Magpro then I highly recommend trying it. I have a 7wsm that I shoot in a stainless A-bolt and that powder works great-awesome grouping. I am using Barnes 140ttsx bullets and have absolutely no problem with them staying in the case so I don't understand what is happening with your 300-for the most part pretty similar. In getting back to Magpro, it was initially designed for WSM and RSAUM family of cartridges if my sources are correct but it is hard as hell to get. H4350 is supposed to be a good standby powder and maybe even RL22 but I would have to check my books.
 
I use rl 19 - mid charge in the barnes tsx book with the 180 tsx and get 2830 fps. I know it`s slow but it`s just my barrel. The same load in friends rifles goes 2960. I also had good results with rl 17 but dont recall the charge weight - speeds were more in line with what I had expected. My oal was 2.888 not that it`ll mean anything in your rifle though
 
H4350 and 165gr. Interbond's work awesome for me.

I'm thinking that a 180gr. TSX is likely way to tough of bullet for the given application.
 
I ge spectacular accuracy with H4831 and 180gr TSX and H4350 and 150gr TTSX and Varget and 130gr TTSX in my 300WSM. If your bullet isn't saying tight in the neck, it's because something is wrong with the neck sizing or you are seating the bullets too deep.

Other powders to look at are PL 17, RL 22.

Anything in the TSX/TTSX form 150gr up is suitable for moose, and the 130gr would probably lay the smackdown on one too, I suppose.:p
