Best powder for 45-70?

Beyond some of the more popular powders previously mentioned, I've also had good results with both Benchmark & H335.

+1 for 2015BR, the Chinese stuff. Likely hard to get now.

I like 3031 for 350 grainers, and for 500 gr casts slow but steady 4759

For some lighter loads with cast bullets, I've had good results usig IMR 4227 and filler material. With the heavier loads, especially with jacketed bullets IMR 3031 has been my main choice. After seeing some of the results a shooting buddy of mine is getting using IMR 4198, I picked up a couple of pounds last week at P&d. I haven't tried it out, yet but will do so soon.
