Dont have much knowledge reloading the Colt 45, i will cast 255 and 300 gr for my Survivor and my Rossi hand rifle ( still unfired ) what powder to use for p+ reload in a rifle, HS-6, Universal... JP.:confused:

+P - what's that in a 45 Colt load? Here are some good powders I've used for heavy bullets at or near 30K CUP:

- Lil-Gun;
- H4227;
- H110; and
- SR4759.

These give full or near full cases, and will provide the highest MV's.

Ok for Litt'legun, i use it a lot in 500 S&W, 44 mag and 357 mag, i think i have 4 pounds or more left, out of the Survivor 20 inch tube, i was pushing the regular 250 gr Rem lead load to 1200+ fps, i could load to get 1400+ fps reloads, i would be a very lethal load for deer and bear... JP.

I use mostly Universal in my reloading .45 colt, because it is accurite in my guns, cleaner burning than the others I've tried, & meters well & consistant through my Lee Pro Auto Disk powder measure.

It seems to be one powder that works good in a lot of my other pistol calibre loadings as well. They named this powder "Universal" for good reason. As far as calling it the best powder is subjective, but it is one of the best for my shooting needs!

Try it, you will like it too....

I use Longshot in my colt 45 reloads. It works well, meters great well and gets +p speeds with generally less pressure.
