i use a lyman # 55 powder measure for most of my pistol loads (45 colt) . the powders i use are mostly unique , red dot , and now trail boss and some h110 and lil' gun. seems to be getting a variance of .2 to .3 grain differences in my loads?
So i was wondering if there is a more accurate powder measure out there for the types of powder i use?
thanks

Strange enough, the cheap "crappy" powder measure that comes with the Lee Breech Lock kit is quite good. Even with long stick powders there is never more than .1gr off.

Most places sell it for $25.

Just make sure to disassemble it and make sure it's put back together nice and snug. Mine was a little loose and it was leaking ball powder. It's a very simplistic design, but works great.

I use the #55 and have never had a variance problem.
Are you making sure to use the tamper after every powder throw? Is it clean?

I also use the #55 and find it very consitant. +/- .1 grain. make sure you use the knocker or double/triple tap the charge handle on your way up. get a rythem going and be constant in your motions.

The only powders I have through it are Varget, IMR 4895, and Win 748.

H1000 is a stick powder right? How close it is to Varget?

The kernels are bigger than H4350 which is about the limit of my lyman 55. The H1000 completey hangs up my lyman every couple of throws.
