Best powder/pellets for the Muzzle loader hunt?

Nature of the beast....... as long as it isn't primed, the load is not live...... but it still leaves me unsettled.......
 
I've been shooting 250 grain SSTs in black MMP sabots over 45 grains of IMR4227. The accuracy is as good as I've ever seen or heard for a muzzy. I have bought a box of 225 grain FTX bullets to try though. It'll be the same sabots and likely the same powder charge. I'm hoping results are as good as what I'm used to. So far that muzzy is responsible for a 200 plus mule deer, a 167 wt, a 76 inch stinkalope, and 2 calf moose. I've always wondered what the bullets look like after contact but so far they've all been pass throughs.
 
cva wolf with a 3-9 bushnell ,209 primer 100G pyrodex and 300g powerbelt areo lite after a little tweeking im punching holes at 70 yards i like the power belts cuz they dont have a sleeve they are a true .50 rather then the sabboted ones and i find they are much cleaner, not a bunch of melted plastic in the bore ,play around and find what works in your gun and what you are comfortable with every ones different i have buddys that just take them outta the box fire 3 shots cant hit a 4x8 sheet get mad and just say they are dumb u need to spend more then 5 mins with it to get it right haha
 
Brady... glad to hear you had success with the power belts. Me on other hand cant get them to group worth a crap. Have burned through 3 packs of them and still cant get a decent group at 50 yards and cant even think of shooting them through a clean barrel as they will drop 4 inches low and 3 inches to the left every single time on the first shot. You can ask the 10 pointer I fired at this year and he will agree since I missed a perfect head shot at 50 yards LOL. Went to the hornady SST and getting great groups now just hope that the 10 pointer gives me another chance this coming season LOL .
 
i have good groups with the sst as well nothing wrong with them got the powerbelts because the sst were sold out, get good groups and im confident with them in my gun
