best powder

just wondering which powder would be the best to use in both 222 rem and 30-06.do not have a lot of storage space so if i could get one powder that will work for both would be great.local shop carries hodgons and imr and usually has 4895,4198 and 3031.have checked the reloading data for both rounds and do know all the above powders will work.just wondering which one experieced reloaders would choose.will be using 50 grain bullets in the 222 loads and either 165/168 in the 06.
 
While the powders you list are compatible in both rounds, the only way to find out is try one in both rifles and see your results. Every rifle is different but maybe one powder will be to your liking in both. good luck and small groups.
 
I have had great results with WC735. Higginson Powders.
I use only that one powder in everything from .223 up to the '06. And there are 15 different rifles (and different bullet weights in the same chamberings) in between.
All have provided satisfactory performance to me with this powder.
To be honest, I don't own a .223 (I use a .308 for coyotes), but I load the .223 for a friend. Better accuracy and reliability than American Eagle which is good enough for him.
I use it in:
55gnVmaxs, and 100gn Hornady SP in my wife's .243
110gn hornady SP in SKS (x3), Rem 799 (7.62x39mm), .308Win, .30-06 (x2), .303Br(x5), .303 Epps(x3)
125gn in same as above.
150gn in same as above
165gn in Rem 799, .308, .30-06, .303's
180gn in .308, '06, .303s
200gn in same
220gn in '06.
110Vmaxs in the .308 (just started this one for coyotes this year)
