Best powders 300 WSM and 270 WSM?

Interesting, I too, tried HV 100 and ended up with a pierced primer. I was testing with 180 TTSXs using Quickload data provided to me (start load/10% of max). I figured it was safe as it was in line with Nosler's HV 100 data for 180 grainer. After this experience, I dumped my Winchester Primers - I now use Federal primers. I will be retesting this combo - thankfully Barnes now provides data for HV 100.

I am running 62.7 with the 180 Berger Elite Hunter

My accuracy load for my previous WSM, a Remington 700 XCR, was similar - 62.5 grains with 180 TTSXs (ave. Vel was 2950 fps), Winchester Primer, and CCI200/magnum primers. 4-shot groups averaged just under MOA. Wish I kept that rifle.

IMR4350 and the Berger 190gr gave me 3 nodes, think I settled on 63gr and 0.010 off the lands in my savage. Had to notch the receiver to allow seating from my front-plate-removed magazines, but really happy with the results. Main hunting round after my marlin 1894 in 44 mag

I'm loading 63.2 grains of IMR 4350 behind a Hornady 180 grain Interlock in my friends Tikka T3 300 WSM.

Very accurate and about 2950 fps.

This load has taken a few bull Elk here in the East Kootenays.
