Best pred rifle 223 or 308

Just out of curiosity if you had a choice which we all do what rifle and cal would you pick for a pred hunting 223 or 308?

Out of those two, .223. Personally I go with the 22/250 and 22/243.

and of those choices, the .223 hands down

In my definition, predators are in the coyote/wolf /bobcat/fox/lynx class. Cougars are getting to big game and bears are definitely big game.

So for stuff in that class, I'd use the 223, as the .308 is surely a big game cartridge.

I really like my Remington 223 LVSF. It feels like a bb gun to carry, is nice and accurate to 350 yards (or more, never shot it past there)

To tune it up, if you wish, just bed it, smooth out trigger and you are good to go...

I have a # of varmit rifles.Of your selection, its 223. My coyote gun is a 243,more thump at long range. Remember no wrong picks just some are more versitile, take into consideration where you will hunt & what you will hunt. .02 from AJ
