Best Predator Hand Call

For a newbie to the predator calling game, what calls should I pick-up and learn to use? Is there a good starter pack and tape? Or should I mix and match?

I was looking today at wholesale and am wonder what I should start out with...

"Here Cyote...cyote...cyote...." that is what works for me :D lol but I have these thinger majigs called "screaming Mini's" and "Primos Cottontail Rabbit" these are real easy to use and work great! plus there fairly cheap as far as calls go...:cool:

x2 for primos stuff, but there is lots of good ones out there (except maybe Knight and Hale never liked any of ther calls), a buddy uses sceery, personally i have probaly got a dozen or so, most every one has called something in at sometime.

What sort of stuff will you be calling in.
 
Check out Haydel calls, Critter calls, Dan Thompson calls, they are all good.
You may want to start with a closed reed call and gain confidence and then go to an open reed howler.
I would suggest you go to the predator masters forum, you'll get days of reading on what kind of hand calls are good as well as instructions from the best on how to use them.
If you're wanting to hear some different predator sounds you can hear and download them free at Western Rivers....I think thats the name....
 
I would really like to get good at calling in cats and foxes, coyotes too though.

I'll check out wal-mart to see what they have.

No pic any more eh Tod? Glad I saw what you were talking about before I headed north. I saw that kit on the cabela's site so will likely order from there if nothing else turns up for me.
