Well, we had to do Christmas early this year and my wife got me a gift that I can hardly wait to get. It's a S&W 627 V-comp from the Performance centre. It should be here in January some time, until then if anyone else has one of these or any of the other 8-shot revolvers, I would love to hear any and all the info you have about them.

I had one. IMO it's a great handgun. I sold it because it just wasn't getting much use. I compete in IPSC (USPSA) and couldn't see improving my reloading skills enough to be decent at it. Reloading 8 cylinders quickly requires a very good speed loader. I found that the 8 round moon clips didn't hold the rounds accurately enough for high speed reloads. That was my only complaint. The gun is scary accurate and with .38's a real pleasure to shoot. I changed grips quite a bit until I settled on the Jerry Miculek model. They are deceptively comfortable and fast which was my focus at the time.

This was mine. :)

Congrats on the great gift! These PC tuned guns a re the Ducks Guts, Ive always been a semi auto guy until I shot my TRR8. Its met with lots of ooh's and aah's at the range as well, which is always nice..Enjoy!

What holster is that?

These "non-traditional" S&W revolvers are starting to grow on me. For the sake of my bank account....I hope I never get to handle/shoot one.
I sense some bromance in the works...
