Interesting my GSG 1911 without the kit fired fine for over 250 rounds in 6 different magazines. I tried a box of black box Federal first in the fall before the sales and liked it enough to buy more when it did go on sale. I find it cleaner in my CZ 452 bolt action rifle than the Federal blue box 525 packs. On sale with rebate it was 4 cents a round so worked out well for me at least.
Apart from the black pack ammo have you been happy with the ZRTS kit? I understand that there more to like than just not having to put that little damn screw back if you use the kit lol!
Every gun is a little different, could just be mine & yes, before you ask, its a well broken in gun, about 6,500 rounds through it, but, ive tried it clean and fresh, dirty and with all five mags with the same results. Ive got some AE red box round nose that isnt that expensive that it seems to like fine enough.
The kit seemed to help with feed reliability. I ran it for the first few hundred on minimags & did a little sanding with 600 grit on the rails & when i tried experimenting with other "economy" ammo, ran into problems with almost all of the ones i tried. Put the kit in & had much improved results across the board immediately.
Accuracy improvement claims, i think are unrealistic. My kit didnt seem to give me any statistically significant improvement when shooting 10 yards from a rest. But, I did note with some disappointment that there was quite a bit of gap (maybe 1-1.3mm) between the ZRTS barrel collar and the bushing. Given the accuracy claims, I was expecting a couple of thou short of contact.
Not having to deal with that screw though, that is a happy thing for sure.
Hmm, i wonder where i put it actually.... LOL
