Best primers ---opinions

CCI 450 has a thicker cup than the other choices. My 'go to' choice for anything that approaches 'hot' loads. Works very well with 204 Ruger.

I have used nothing but Winchester (Large Rifle and Large Rifle Magnum), and Seller&Bellot for large and small pistol. I have never had an issue with either. No fail to fire nothing at all, and my rifle bolt faces are all in pristine condition. The people that mentioned the Winchesters were causing issues might have had a bad batch, but I have never had an issue.

Just finished using up the last of my stash of Winchester "For Large Rifle or Large Rifle Magnum" $16.95/1,000 primers that I thought were bloody expensive back in the day, but had to bite the bullet because we were in YK at the time.

Guess I'm gonna get a "better sit down" kind of shock when I go to buy the next big batch, huh?

Some good comments....but this post, sums up the reason for my OP. Everything changes, years ago WW brass was the best non premium brass...but their quality has gone down. Same is no doubt true of primers, way back from when i bought a lifetime supply, that now is actually 10years.....and gone.

Which company has let their quality fall?

I have and use them all. Winchester, Remington CCI, Federal RWS, CIL, Dominion, Wolf, Vihtavuori.........

In the last 30 years, I have had next to no issues with any of them.

I believe that every manufacturer turns out product with issues at some time or other.
A good example is the blown primer/damaged boltface problem.

I have had individual primers do that from at least 5 manufacturers over the years...no lots with the issue, however.

Regards, Dave.
