Best recoil reduction method??

Hey guys,

Me and my buddy fed007 (also a cgn'er) hit the range yesterday, he had his Mossy 500 Mariner, and I had my Fabarm martial composite, and we went through alot of 2 3/4" and 3" magnum winchester slugs. They're a blast to play around with, but after a while, they just plain hurt.

I admit, I am a wimp, I need something to reduce the recoil. What do you guys recommend?
 
Limbsaver is the only thing that will make a noticeable difference when shooting slugs (and it'll still hurt after awhile).

The only sure way to reduce the recoil........Is to give me your gun.....you sissy.:p :p :p

I don't really notice much recoil from my fabarm....now shooting the 97 trench gun, with that 1/4" hard plastic butt pad.:eek:
 
Probly best way would be to tuffin up... Maby look into shooting a .410.


A few girls I know shoot with those slip on recoil pads and they say they work great , so there a Idea cheap to .

Simple physics. To reduce recoil, add weight. Anything else just "dampens" the recoil.

Alternatively: lighter projectiles at slower velocity. But, that's just stupid.;)
 
Pain is mental, too. When I went to get a root canal, I told myself, "pain is weakness leaving the body." Say that to yourself next time you shoot slugs and it'll hurt a lot less, IMO.

My friend has a sis who's like 5'11", model, who can shoot 3" slugs out of an 870 marine pistol grip no problem! *drool*

I highly recommend the knoxx specops stock...no problems shooting Federal Power Shock slugs.... get it you won't be dissapointed.
 
get a past wearable recoil shield, and install a pachmayr on the gun. Then you can start thinking mercury compensator, magna-porting to control muzzle jump, and a muzzle break.

Then you've got a girlie gun ;)

Anyone use those vests / hunting jackets with the gel-like insert at the shoulder? I hear from some that they are good, from others that they are crap.
 
The PAST Magnum model recoil shield works really well if you have a hard uncomfortable buttplate. Further, the full jacket style flaotation jackets (which happen to be blaze orange) work well, too.

Kidding aside, there's no shame in using a recoil-reducing gidget at the range - anything that improves your performance, or lets you shoot more rounds before fatigue, or prevents you from developing a flinch/twitch is a good thing. At the range. Anyone who needs one of those while out hunting - where you may only take a half-dozen shots at most - is another story

whoah - I just read that, and got deja-vu. I mustve deleted a dozen e-mails seling products which promise exactly that
