I purchased a Ruger MkIII 22/45 a week or so ago and I'd like to find a good quality red dot site or something along those lines, that won't break the piggy bank. Loads of shooters on here maybe can point me in the right direction, would love some advice from the pistol packers on here.
Cheers,
Armouredtrooper.

Aimpoint micros too expensive I think. They are nice tho.. I seen the holosun version looks like an aimpoint micro I think that's prob a good option for a lesser priced decent Reddot

My buddy has one. I like it. This is what I'll be getting whenever I get a RD. Wanstalls might have them on sale still.

They shipped to Canada? Wouldn't it be ITAR?

Have you used it? Looks ok for the price, as long as it holds zero.

Chinese knock off no Itar. Doubt this will hold zero, most 100-200 knock offs won't hold zero.

I'd go used Vortex Venom or Sparc II or Sparc AR.

I put a Bushnell first strike on my M&P 22 and LOVE it. I'm shooting target at 20 yards 60% better. Got it from Wantsalls on sale for 139.00 with an AR riser. I'll repurpose or sell the riser.
So far about 900 rounds and kept zero. It's frame mounted, not slide where all the abuse would come from. But your Mark 3 should have a rail so it's the same configuration.
I'm looking at red dot solutions for my other pistols and anticipating the Sig P320 RX...

I'm done with cheap red dots. In the last year I've returned 2x vortex Venoms, 1x Fastfire and 1x Holosun. The electronics just don't hold up or the adjustments stop working. I'm now using a Vortex Razor and it's miles ahead of anything else I've tried. That said, they're not cheap, but neither are my guns nor my free time to use/enjoy them. I'll see how this Japanese made optic holds up, but so far it's impressed me in ways nothing else could

I just picked up a Primary Arms RDS off the EE. Chinese made but looks like decent quality. Similar price point to the Holosun. Everything clicks and works nicely. Comes with Allen keys, bikini covers, some kind of Loctite and a polishing cloth! Them Chinese think of everything!

Will find out if it holds up to shotguns!

I ordered it from Canada's amazon, but that seller is sold out. Have not fired it yet. But, I've yet to have a sight on a .22 fail to hold a zero.

Another for the trs 25 I have one on a 22/45 and just borrowed it to put on my sub 2000 with a cheapo UTG mount. The trs is $104 shipped on amazon.

Another vote for the TRS-25. I have 2 on my semi-auto shotguns and one I'm thinking of using on my beater AR. Can't go wrong with the value and durability of these RDS.

If you can shoot with the irons forget the red dot. Tubed optics will make your Ruger heavy (been there done that went back to irons).
If you have an astigmatism the dot won't work for you. If you still want one bet the Burris Fast Fire with Pictinny mount.....
