I've got to lay in a decent amount of shells to be reloaded. I'm starting from scratch on the 8 x 57 flavor. Not to be loaded hot mind you; the opposite, mild deer loads. My 15 year old daughter has recieved a Bubba'd small ring from her Grandpa and wants to go hunting this fall.
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. Which brand is best for reloading? Other suggestions are welcome as well.
Thanks for your time

Never used a lot of either, but I have had consistent results with Prvi, not so consistent with Sellier & Bellot. That would also seem to be the experience of others whose posts I have looked up on this and other reloading boards.

You''ll probably be hard pressed to tell the difference IMO, especially if you're using moderate loads. PRVI is good for the price. Never had a problem with S&B but i haven't bought new S&B for a few years.

I've heard of instances of problems with all the major brands of brass at one time or another. I tend to take a lot of what I read on forums with a grain of salt, and don't jump on the bandwagon until i see it for myself. There's a lot of internet-based expertise that is not real world expertise. You know what I mean - "A" posts he had a problem with a component, "B" reads it and repeats it as his own experience somewhere else. "C" believes it must be true because he read it from two different sources. Next thing you know it's an accepted fact.

The other thing about brass life not that often mentioned is the size of the chamber. the chamber is close to the size of the die, almost any brass will last well at modest pressures. If the chamber is oversized, you can get great improvement in brass life by lapping the dies.

Privi is my favourite 22 Hornet bress. Far more consistnet in size and weight than either WW or RP. Lasts damn near forever, have some that are over 25 reloads. Never used S&B in anything so can't say about it.
