best reloading manual

Another vote for the ABC's of Reloading - Starting out I found it excellent. I also found the Lyman 49th to be excellent and every reloader sould have a copy for reference and comparison.

As for the best... well... I would recommend you take a trip to your local shop where you would be possibly buying your supplies... if they, for example, have a shelf full of Hornady bullets of all types.... perhaps buying the Speer manual would not be the best decision! Get a copy of Hornady 8th edition ... and vise versa if there is a pile of Gold Dot sitting on the shelf etc...
 
Do get the manual for the bullets you are using. Nosler, Barnes, Sierra and Hornady & Speer list different loads for the same weight bullets, and there are reasons for that difference.
The Lyman and Hodgdon manuals list all sorts of different bullets, but, maybe not the one you are using. The Hodgdon, Alliant, Accurate powder manuals are all posted on their sites, Hodgdon includes Winchester and IMR.
Another worthwhile one is Ken Waters pet loads.
I hate buying new manuals, but, it has to be done, as bullets and powders do change over time.
