What reticle do you prefer for doing load development and target shooting.
And on what magnification level do you prefer?

At 100 yards:)

If you don't plan to hunt, as fine a crosshair with or without target dot as you can get.
As high a magnification as you can afford in a quality optic, I like and use a 36x but I would love a good 45x.

I’ve used up to 25. But it was with a vortex pst11, so I found the reticle a little busy.
I’m using a VX3i 4.5 -14 LRP now but find , sometimes I can’t see my bullit holes at 100 yards.

Maybe I’ll trade it in

I pick the reticle based on its end use, then if I need to I'll work on the targets to suit the reticle.

When shooting at paper targets its a lot easier to see bullet holes if they land on white. If you can't see 22 caliber holes at 14 power at 100 yards on a white target you either have a focus problem, a target problem, a scope problem or a vision problem. For your convenience I listed them in order of both cost and difficulty. :)

Yep, that would be your answer..... and again, better glass with higher mag will let you see more at distance.

With the right light, shooters are seeing their 6mm impacts at 600yds. I have spotted 7mm and 30cal holes out towards 800m with shots landing in the "white". At these distances, mirage is a huge problem and not very often you have clean enough air to see BUT the quality of lense has to be there in the first place.

if you wear progressives, another big issue is the position of the scope. I have had to change my scope position above the action once I went to progressive lenses... I had to find the sweet spot in my glasses AND seeing through the scope. Took some fiddling but it actually made me more comfy so that was a bonus.

100yds is not very far away so....
