Best rifle you ever bought?

My well used Tikka T3 Battue in a factory walnut stock. I upgraded most of the plastic bits, but no matter... half MOA with Federal Fusion 150 grain ammo since day 1. Smooth action, easy pointing and 100% reliable in boring old 30-06. I have far more expensive and exotic toys, but this thing just works. Second is my custom cased and refinished BSA 310 Australian Cadet chambered in 32-20 (original factory barrel)... no small critter has ever escaped this elegant little beauty. Third up is my Norwegian K98... it does everything well. For the record, all have iron sights.

That's an easy answer for me, my first Ruger no 1. A stainless 300 win mag that both took my first moose and bear. I will never let it go.

I have several favorite rifles depending on the application.........My modified 700 SS in 300 Wby, it's glassed into a Brown Precision glass stock designed for a Sako. The bolt throw and magazine I lengthened to 4" and I used Sako bottom metal so it holds 4 under. I also sent it to the old guy in Winnipeg and got it "6 port" ported.

I would love some pictures of this rifle, any chance you would consider posting a few? close ups of the mods would be even better.

I have several rifles that were tweaked and customized and tuned up to be very very good, but out of the 40 or so that I have owned, there was only one that never needed anything at all, it just did absolutely everything perfectly from the start - My Sauer 202 Stuzten .308. Accurate, reliable, ergonomic, functional, stylish, and deadly. Factory original design, configuration, fit and finish that didn't need to be improved upon. That's very rare.

DG..........I'll try but last time I couldn't even figure out how to get them from my camera onto my computer. Something has changed and I'm at a loss right now. I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

Kimber Hunter in 280AI.

5 3/4 lbs 24" barrel match grade stainless 84L (Model 70) action hunting rifle for $1000. The value is mind blowing.

That is the same way I feel about my 202(300 Wby) and 101(30/06), both just perfect out of the box.

View attachment 155764Troy PAR, best value to features. Spent a lot more on other rifles that were basically the same idea but less accurate. Yeah they were all semi autos, but the PAR is more accurate and just as much fun. Spent tons trying to make bolt actins have the same ergos, it’s just a great rifle for cheap. I call it the ol AR PRE-10D
