Due to lack of recoil, The Best Rings really are not required, tell us what kind of rifle you have. This will make giving suggestions much more relative. FS

I have always used Burris steel rings. I think they run about $30-40 and are way better than some of the really cheap ones out there...like the ones that come with certain lower end scopes. As FS said above you don't necessarily need the strongest rings on the market, i just like the Burris ones as they are a quality product at a reasonable price.

I agree with fassteel....I do like the adjustable rings (side to side) but scope lens size determines the height also. Some rings are better for height and others for smaller in conformation.

you serious ? I guess for your rimfire any ring under 100 bucks wont do . you need us optics rings i think atrs has some but be careful rimfires are known to be very hard on optics and rings .

I have Talley rings on my Anschutz sporter ... they make a variety of premium rifle-specific rings, in both steel and aluminum. It's easy to find the website.

fassteel, Anschutz and Sako, Looking for high quality rings that match both the rifles and the optics.

Talley

Looking for high quality rings that match both the rifles and the optics.

Then you should really go to the Talley website, and tell me/us what you think :)

a lot of assumptions, not everyone knows everything....at least I don't. just getting into the rimfire game so call me green.

Hmmm ... it sounds like you have a beer in one hand and the computer mouse in the other. As I have done, far too many times ... :)

It's not a real challenge to delete stuff ... in the cold light of dawn.

It's obvious to me that some of these people have never shot a .22 all day long at gophers and such like 500 rounds or more a day for a few days in a row...There is difinately recoil to a .22 and after a few days your shoulder feels it and I'm a big guy!!
I've seen on more than 1 occasion scope slide forward on all types of .22's using cheap rings (not to mention any names like weaver)...Take my advice and alwayse buy the best you can afford...Any gun is only as good as its cheapest componant...for what its worth.

T.B.G.....Never had a problem with Weaver rings?

500 rounds or more a day for a few days in a row at gophers??!!
Either your scope is severely off or you have an infestation problem....:D

I have had dovetail type rings that slid after a brick . I replaced them with weavers had never had a problem . Only downfall of the weaver brand is ring marks on your scope . I use prw burris and weaver have not seen a scope slide with any . All have a bar that fits in the rail that makes it impossible it's something that dovetail lack .

looks like talley makes what I am after. would like the option of using them on a .223 also so recoil is a consideration (annie 1770). thanks for the comments all. Prophet River in Alberta carries them and apparently Talley will send them to Canada without hassles, have no idea what the U.S. regulations are on Rimfire rings so won't comment on legalities of importation. Price is about $65 for a set plus shipping. Cdn, or $55US straight from the Manufacturer.
