I bought Warne quick release low rings, which turned out not to work as the bolt hits the scope when cycled.

makes me wonder why they would even make low rings, if the bolt hit the scope when cycled?

anyhow, should I just go with Warne mid-height, or do some of you have good recommendations?

Modify the bolt handle; that is what I did. Or you can get a modified one from James Calhoon, or I believe the newer CZ handles have been changed to allow more clearance. Unless you don't mind the scope sitting way up off you rifle in which case there are several higher ring options than the Warne. (CZ, Burris, Leupold, Talley)

Good luck!

From what I see, this guy also make a set of custom rings for the CZ 527.

Low's will never fit, mediums are really close and High's will give you about a 1/4". This was the case on my rifle, I just ended up strapping on a cheek riser to the stock to avoid the chin weld.

Warne doesn't make low rings for the cz527. You need to get a new low profile bolt handle and choose a scope that doesn't have a huge power change ring/eye piece. Warne mediums (the lowest warne makes) with a fairly large power change ring/eye piece (Burris) clears my new handle by 3/16 - 1/4". Lynx brand makes the lowest mounts I found (0.355") and I can run a leupold compact without issues.

Warne medium mounts are perfect for a scope with a 40mm objective

Not to be a #### (OK, maybe just a little) but this is referred to as the "ocular bell"... just so we're all on the same page...

These rifles look great, but I usually prefer scopes a few mils off the barrel. This stuff is all way too high for my liking.

I'd love to own a 527 in x39 though.

You would want the Lynx mounts, the new handle and a leupolds compact. It would be low - the way it should be.

I think I read somewhere that 527's with the letter M [527M ]have the newer factory altered bolt handles.Lynx rings are made in Australia are they not? I have high Leupold rings on mine and a 4X Leupold scope. With med rings the Butler Creek caps hit the bolt handle.Harold
