Best rounds for Henry .22 Lever

I just picked up a Henry .22LR rifle, I'm just wondering the best brand of ammo to use it in, I haven't had any luck with Winchester shells in my 12 gauge, is there anything you guys could suggest?

I use American Eagle 38 grain copper-plated HP.

We shoot Blazer/American Eagle with no problems, it is a fun gun but we never expect miracles from it.

Try a mix of different brands as the gun will show you the best ammo it likes. The gun is certainly not a target rifle but is a gopher/plinking gun.

I was looking for a gun I could use on small game, I also went with the frontier model with the octagon barrel, too.. Not the cheaper H001.

All firearms have different tastes in ammo. Luckily its 22 LR, so grab a box or two of everything

Run them through, take score. Narrow the choices down. Shoot again, take score, etc etc

the Henery will also eat .22 long and .22 short

I ahve great luck with Winchester 555 from Walmart. Also the cheapest .22lr ammo I can find anywhere. 36 gr, copper plated HP. Great for plinking or small game. Rarely have any misfires.

Yup, I like using shorts in mine. You can put a pile of them in the mag. "Load on Sunday, shoot all week long."
