Best sausage maker in saskatchewan

The guy in downtown P/A, I forget his name, but i had deer sausages made by him and they are excellent(pepperettes). It is also the cleanest butcher shop that i can remember....P/A meats if I remember correctly.

It's a big place, Sask.

How far do you want to drive, and where do you live?
And what are you looking for as far as sausage? Tastes vary.

Used to be an older European gent west of Moose Jaw. Peter, IIRC. Never knew his last name.
Raised his own hogs, cut meat in the basement of his house. Made some kick-ass cooking sausage. Never tried meat sticks or jerky from him though.

Cheers
Trev

As mentioned previously, you didn't say where you live or how far you want to drive but three in my area are: Modern Meats in Humboldt and Pulvermacher Brothers in Bruno and B and T Meats 10 miles North of Bruno. They all make good frying sausage(smokies) , beer sausage and jerky. I don't believe any of them 'blend' the deer but keep each order separate.
Hope that helps.

If you are referring to Curtis at PA Meat Market, you will no longer be able to go there. The business is no longer, but I agree , he did a fine job on my peperoni sticks.

There is also a shop in St.Brieux that did an excellent job the time I used him.

Arnold Geisbrecht @ Morse. You will get your own meat back, and any bullets he may find. One of my scirrocos buggered up his grinder a couple years ago.

In Saskatoon there is a butcher in the small market at Clarence Avenue and Twelfth Street that promises you get your own animal back. I haven't tried them yet but when I talked to them I got a good enough impression that I would try them if I couldn't do my own or find someone reccommended by anyone I know.

I had several animals procesed there ! It may cost a little more but the quality shows thru! And why cheap out only to get someone elses meat that you have no idea how it was handled/cleaned . Just my opinion !

If you can do it go together with a couple of hunting friends and buy a decent grinder/sausage stuffer. Learn to make your own stuff. It make take a bit of triel and error but you get the results you want, save money, and it just adds to the experience. After season get togethers to make sausage and have a few brown bottled pops is always icing on the cake for hunting season.

Don't be scared to try as there is a pile of how to info out there. If time is an issue freeze your meat in chunks that can be run through the grinder at a later date when you can get organized.

Too bad about PA meats closing though I will really miss those Jalapeno smokeys they sold and they were a class act outfit.

Thank you KDX and Blaser.306, this year it looks more likely than ever before that I will need to use a butcher. My father always let me use his garage but he had a stroke this year and had to move.

If you are in the Glaslyn-Turtleford area, there is a meat shop on the east side of Turtle Lake that makes awesome sausage that will give you your own meat. I think that it is called Turtle Lake Meats...
