I plan on getting a NEA hand guard for my cz, and i don't want just a simple red dot, i want to shoot close range and to ranges up to 200-250 yards, What are my best options? Pictures make the world go round to, thanks.

I second the POSP idea. I have a 6x42 posp on my 858. At 200 meters, I can easily place the chevron in the center of the target with out any confusion about where the center is. An 8x scope would be nicer at the longer ranges, but it may be a bit over whelming at closer ranges.

I know you said you didn't want a red dot, but try one if you haven't. At 0-250 an EoTech or Aimpoint is ideal.

If you don't like the red dot a Leupold 1 x 4 would be a good choice.

I'm pretty much a complete rookie when it comes to firearms and optics, but wouldn't mounting a magnified optic on the railed handguard put it WAAAAY too far from your eye and not let you see anything? I know 1x magnification (aka non-magnified) optics like red dot, EO-Techs, Aimpoints, etc. have infinite eye relief so that's OK, but I think a scope would be too far away.
Does this make sense?

Scout scopes or pistol scopes have a very long eye relief. They are designed to be mounted much farther than typical scopes.

Hope that helps Benito.

A russian optic's Manufactorer named Barsck makes a 30mm scope with scale type rangefinder which is designed for the 7.62 x 39mm rd. It's a mil-spec(proper term?) design. Looking through it reminds me of the type mounted on M/N's in WW2.
It's only a 4 power though. I've heard horror stories about them and also that they are solid scopes. The upside is that they are quite affordable; 150-200$
They are not variable so there are less moving parts to fail I'd think.
I mounted one on my M/N but the eye relief was wrong. I built a leather eye piece not unlike the type seen on WW1 scopes. It seemed to improve the eye relief by blocking out ambient light. (sorry no pic's right now).
It sounds as though it might be what you are looking for; but whether or not it will hold up to usage on a semi remains to be seen.
But it can't be mounted like a scout unit; has to an be old school reciever mount
If you try it let us know how it works out

have what a cz858 (vz58) you can buy em down there i think the average price is around $1000-1200usd

no i meant having a side rail, the cz858/vz58 is had for about $900.00, i just don't want to void a 5 year warranty on the rifle and drill it for a side mount, i may just end up getting a red dot for the front, i was hoping for a scope but maybe one day options will become available, until them i have been looking at the Aimpoint micro t-1. just wanted the option of seeing far out.
