Out of the 6 I’ve owned the only one I haven’t sent to Korth is the one still in plastic. Never had that issue with any of my fixed 6x.

That's quite a run. I've had good results from mine, save one old Vari-X II 3-9 that had to go see the Dr.

That is quite the run… I have a batch of em and yet to encounter a problem. Seems like Leupolds just don’t favour some guys…. Just some though!

Grab the VX-3 2.5-8x36 w/ B&C reticle on EE right now! If I had need for it, it would be bought already! (am scope rich at the moment)
I have a number of these scopes on rifles, including my 7mm-08 and my wife's rifle (previously on her 7mm-08). Never had a problem with these scopes, and the B&C reticle helps in the few instances where you may need to stretch out to 400 yards as you've stated. (Zero for 200 yards)

That's a great scope for most hunting. I have three of those. One BC and two Duplex. One of the duplex is on a 7x57, so basically the same as what the OP is asking about.

Scope rich here as well. Downsizing will do that.
