Out of the 6 I’ve owned the only one I haven’t sent to Korth is the one still in plastic. Never had that issue with any of my fixed 6x.
3 canted reticles, one frozen power adjustment ring and one funky erector.
So far so good with my VX IIIiThat's quite a run. I've had good results from mine, save one old Vari-X II 3-9 that had to go see the Dr.
That is quite the run… I have a batch of em and yet to encounter a problem. Seems like Leupolds just don’t favour some guys…. Just some though!3 canted reticles, one frozen power adjustment ring and one funky erector.

A 180yd offhand shot is quite a feat.I just got my deer at 180y offhand, used 7x and would've happily had more but I still hit the boiler-room.
Trijicon for a light and trim 7mm-08, most likely an Accupoint 3-9x40.
That's a great scope for most hunting. I have three of those. One BC and two Duplex. One of the duplex is on a 7x57, so basically the same as what the OP is asking about.Grab the VX-3 2.5-8x36 w/ B&C reticle on EE right now! If I had need for it, it would be bought already! (am scope rich at the moment.
