Hey guys I am completely new to the scope world and I'm worried I will buy the wrong one. I have been searching but keep getting mixed reviews, its killing me. I am currently going to get a 700 R5 and I wont be hunting, primarily precision shooting and want the right scope for me. I know I am not going to be able to pop off 1000 yd targets on my first day. My dilemma with starting small (buying a cheaper/lower range scope) is that I am the type that prefers to buy something better than what my skills need and learn off of it so when I gain the skill I wont have to go buy a new scope and waste more money....if that makes sense. I want a scope that enables me to hit as far as this caliber allows me. What scope will be good for me? My budget is preferably $1300 or less.
newb question....i know...thanks for the help and hopefully no sarcastic replies, I'm at the end of my rope when I'm on the forums
