I have a Vortex Viper PST 4-16X50 EBR-1 MRAD in the second focal plane and it is a great scope. Constant 4" eye relief, great warranty, and can be had for about $800, which leaves you with enough cash for a set of Vortex PMR rings. Check One Shot Tactical Supply, he has great prices and service.

Sightron has a $75.00 rebate till the end of the month on the Big Sky II scopes. I bought a 6.5-20x50 side focus with mil dot for a rifle I'm building and it's a very nice scope. I doubt there is anything that can touch it in it's price range ($688.65 shipped including the rebate).
