Best scope for longe range 1000+ yards

I looked at the DCRA rules. 8mm max at the Connaught range, other ranges or comps may have other limits (higher or lower).

I was also told that 185gr bullets are OK for F-TR, but the DCRA says max of 156gr. Can someone clarify this for me??

Thx

I'm sure TT is outstanding, and possible the best tactical scope out there, but for F class wouldn't you want more than x25? Maybe S&B 12-50 or March 5-40? I mean if cost if no object...

The owner of Tangent Theta shoots F-class with the 3-15X model, even went to Bisley with it.
25X would be plenty for most, a lot of the higher magnification scopes usually end up set in the 24-40x range, sometimes less depending on conditions/shooter preference.

One of the things to look for is overall weight, there can easily be a 300-400gram difference between scope models/brands.

You have to separate two sets of rules. F class and TR

In F class, the Open div is limited to 8mm diameter and speed to fit the Connaught range templet. In FTR, 308 or 223, there is no bullet weight limit. F class allows use of front and rear rests and optics

In the TR, slings, jackets and open sights shot off your elbows, the max bullet weight is 156gr out of a 308. Many countries call this Palma shooting.

I compete and shoot LR with Sightron scopes. STAC, SIII and SVSS. If you want high mag, lots of travel, great optics, mechanicals and a unique/awesome side focus system, the built like a tank SVSS is worth a look.

2 new STACs just hit Canada and wow, talk about amazing value. Will have a review in the coming weeks.

Will add a TT when my scope is built.

I like my Sightron 10-50 with 1/8 custom turrets, but if cost is not an issue I am not sure what to say. Maybe the Nightforce Competition which I have never used or could ever buy. I have a Nightforce Benchrest 12-42x as well, but the Sightron I find to be better, and it's $500 less.
