Best scope for this rifle?

Hi Joe,I see you mentioned Nikon as a possible choice, I have a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5x14x40 which I have mounted on my 243 win, it was mounted on my 300 win mag before that, I really like it, I think it's as good as any other scope out there as far as clarity.

The reason I switched it off the 300 mag was I had a problem with the side focus and lost my receipt so I thought there was no way I'd get it covered by the warranty without the receipt, so anyway after a few days I contacted Nikon Canada about it and they told me to send it in and they would see what they could do, well that's what I did and after about 2 weeks I got a call from a lady at Nikon asking for my address they didn't fix my scope, they replaced it and to make it even better I had it in my hands the day after they called looking for my address ( they sent it by air and all without a receipt to prove I was the original owner).

So not only is Nikon a very good scope,IMO, the warranty coverage is excellent.

Best of luck with what ever you choose

I mounted a Nikon Monarch 3-12x42SF on a 22LR and I was actually disappointed with the clarity.

I find it kinda funny you're asking for advice on glass when you have pretty much the best you can put on a rifle. Not happy with Swarovski, the Nightforce or Khales you have?

get a good leupold... dont think about to hard cause your just wasting your time. the sights are the most important part of your rig. when the day comes, when your looking down at the trophy of your lifetime you dont want a p.o.s sitting up top of your good rifle and if your scope cost as much as your rifle. thats a good thing.

Might want to read through the thread, it seems he settled on a S&B
