Good day,

I going to pick up a new BAR Mk II Safari and was wondering about the ideal scope set-up. I had in mind a single base with a 3.5-10x40mm, preferably Leupold.

Anyone have any experience on the optimal scope set-up for these rifle's, and what is the most practical magnification one should use on a hunting rifle?

Any input on Brand and Model would be appreciated.

Thanks

Depends what you hunt, how you hunt, and where you hunt, more so, then the rifle. Also budget is good to know.

A quality 3-9x40 covers many. Hard to go wrong with a Leupold 2.5-8x36. FXII 4, or 6x. 4200 3-9x40, Conquest 3-9x40 has a very generous eye box. I haven't bought a new scope in many years. Find a quality used scope off the EE, in what ever power you want.

Leupold base and rings has always been a standby. Also like Burris signature Zee rings. Another one piece I see around that appears good is the DNZ.
