Best scope setup for an SKS?

I can't see your pics but if there like the bc scout mount I guess the casings hit the scope sometimes ....

Most of the SKS scope setup reviews that I have read reported 100 yard groups in the 3-4" range.

Since I can shoot 4" 100 yard groups with my stock SKS, I've never bothered mounting an optic on it.

The best sighting system for the SKS rifle is without a doubt to ensure your rifle does not run an optical sight. Open sights is your best bet. Maximum effective range of the caliber is arguably 250 metres. You don't need a scope - Run open sights - as it was meant to run... Still want to run optics? Buy a different rifle platform.

and you cant get the gas tube off without removing the mount. useless. bctac one you can.

Open sights are impossible for my old eyes and I prefer a red-dot over a scope so I'm trying this setup on my first SKS. The new dust cap needs careful attention while filing it for the first installation so that you get a snug fit. Only put about 50 rounds through it so far but it works great IMO.

Whatever you do, stay away from any mount that requires you to remove it in order to clean the rifle. So a side mount would really be your only option.

You might not like scopes on an SKS, but to say they are garbage and useless is misleading and not correct. There are good mounts and there are valid reasons to scope an SKS, just as some people might have valid reasons not to scope their sks. Coming from the GTA, i thought you would be more open to the concept of multi-culturalism and acceptance of other opinions without blowing a head gasket whenever somebody does something differently than you would choose to do.

If you'd really like consistent results, side mount, or long-eye relief(pistol) on rear sight.

^^Best way to go and I have tried them all. The Kwik rail is the next best choice if you want to go with a detachable mag.

None. It's a carbine. Scoping a carbine throws of the balance and will not make it shoot any better.

Use what it came with irons or use a kwik rail they are not known for there accuracy

Get the Wartak Skar rail! Best rail because it holds a zero and there is minor modifictions needed to fit it. I just picked one up and I put a compact scope on it. The only problem is that you can't use stripper clips anymore, but if you have a tapco mag that's not a problem
