I voted Weaver. I prefer Leupold but when you get below the FXII or VXIII level the Grand Slam has , to my eyes, better optics.

FXII have been running in the 399.99 range for 4X. To me thats not under $ 400

Just my opinion

I'd go for a Bushnell 3200 or a used 4200. Luepold makes some good scopes(VX-11 and VX III) but are grossly overpriced in Canada. I nearly choked when I saw a Rifleman for $299 cdn:eek: The same scope sells for $179 US just a few K south.

Bushnell Elite 3200 series. I've had a few on some hard kicking rifles and they've held up well.

I do like the Leupolds, just not at that price point. The rifleman is garbage IMO. YMMV.

I'm sorry, but I just can't say "Bushnell" anything. I've never had any luck with their stuff. I've never owned a Leupold that was under $400.00, although Leupold IS my favorite scope, in all fairness I can't vote that way. Under $400.00, I must go with Burris as two that I currently own are doing a fine job. I've heard now from two different people that Bushnell Elite 4200 won't take recoil from a 7 mag and a .300 mag
