Hi Nutz,

I am just looking for some feedback and opinions on the best bang for buck Scope with Side Parallax adjustment for around $500. Scope will be used for hunting.

I know there are many options, but I like hearing about personal experiences.

Also, has anyone had any experience with these Oculus scopes Bass Pro now offers? Are they good value at least?

Thanks in advance!

There's a Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16X42 on the EE for 450$+ shipping. They have some very nice glass and side focus. I think it's a good deal. I have a 2-8X32 on a rimfire and mas it's a good scope. Focus down to 20yds, fully multi coated and i have no complaints on mine.

Own both, a Bushnell Ultra HD 3-9x40 and the Nikon Monarch 3-12x42. Both decent but IMO the Monarch has the optical edge over the Bushnell.

The diamond back HP is on sale from WSS or Cabelas right now for 299.00 :)

I pick up a Bushnell Elite 3-9X50mm for one of mine Weatherby's 30-06. The scope is super clear, I compared it with a Vortex Viper and a Leupold VX2 scope and I can't tell the differents, and with the DOA600 reticle, its good to go out to 600.

This scope is actually on sale at Cabela's: http://www.cabelas.ca/product/83256/vortex-diamondback-hp-1-riflescope

Pretty good deal for a brand new scope.

I would of purchased it already if it had a BDC reticle and not the terrible vplex

awesome feedback so far guys, thanks!

Seems like a lot of people love the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD for the value.

Also, the Monarchs and Diamondbacks seem like good options too if you can find them for the right price. Maybe even an entry level used Viper would be a great option under $500.

Just picked up a Nikon Monarch 3. Haven't got a chance to use it in the field but will this weekend. Very clear and crisp, I compared it with the Vortex diamondback hp and the leupold vx-2 and found that it fit my eyes better than the two others. I would just suggest going to the store and looking through all of them.

The Bushnell website will not load on my phone worth a damn, and I know this is kind of off topic but does the Bushnell warranty cover me if I buy a legend ultra hd scopes used? I'm in the market for two of them as soon as my tax money comes in and I'd like to save a few bucks if I can. Thanks in advance!

Bushnell only warranties the "original" owner.

Burris and Nikon have basically a "no fault" warranty, even if you break the scope by accident (as long as you didn't do something stupid like drive over it to see how tough it was, but if you drop it etc, they will fix it - no questions and no receipt required).

Leupold has a lifetime warranty if the scope was originally purchased through an authorized dealer - won't help you at all if not (at least in Canada).

Vortex has a life time warranty - applies to "whomever" has the scope at the time - no registration/receipt required - some have had zero issues, at least one recent case where the owner was not impressed with the warranty (can search out that thread if you want).
