Who has the best secure shipping for a hand gun going for some work from Ontario to B.C.?

Also, whats the best way of packing it up? I own a lockable case but they'd have to cut it off when it gets there.

It's not required to be locked when you ship, just secure from breaking open. The CP website says you can only send Priority Courier but that is not the law.
The CFC states you can send handguns by "the most secure method"

There is also no requirement to tell them what it is. This is apparently to prevent theft.

I don't see that anyone has suggested shipping it " Signature Required ".
I use Canada Post, Signature req'd & DO NOT state what is inside.

It has worked well so far.

Oh, I've shipped rifles before through CP and always get sig required and insure the hell out of it, just wanted to make sure there were no other little quirks on handguns.

From the CFC site, (today)

Effective or Anticipated In-Force Date: Immediately

Key Amendments Effect of Amendments
As is currently the case with non-restricted firearms, restricted firearms and prohibited handguns may be shipped to another location in Canada using the most secure method offered by Canada Post that requires a signature on delivery. It will permit Canadians in communities without access to licensed firearm carriers to ship and receive firearms. Individuals are required by law to ship firearms in a safe and secure manner to deter loss, theft and accidents.

Padded Xpresspost envelopes seem very reliable and discreet if the pistol is in a plastic case that fits one. We've had less problem shipping in those than with regular boxes sent xpresspost, and use them whenever possible. Always pleased when others use this service as well.
